The Community & Resource Center

More than a meal.

Our Community Center at St. John’s open Monday–Thursday & Sat, 9:30 am–3 pm (closed for lunch 11:30–12:30), is a low-barrier, judgment-free space where community members experiencing food or housing instability can meet essential needs and connect with others. Visitors are welcomed to access basic supports that promote health, safety, and overall well-being, including hygiene supplies, harm-reduction resources, peer support, and a place to rest and recharge. Staff and volunteers also help participants navigate local services and connect with community partners who provide wrap-around support. Our goal is to reduce stigma, build community, and offer a respectful environment where people can receive what they need, no questions asked.

COMMUNITY & RESOURCE CENTER HOURS:

Monday-Saturday - 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Closed for lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

About the Center

WHO WE SERVE

Manna’s Community Center welcomes community members across the Northampton region who are navigating a range of challenges that affect their stability, well-being, and daily quality of life. We serve individuals impacted by homelessness and housing instability, food insecurity, mental and emotional health challenges, trauma, and histories of substance use. We also serve older adults without dependable support systems, young adults aging out of foster care, and people seeking safety after leaving unstable or unsafe living situations.

Each person who walks through our doors brings their own strengths, experiences, and needs. Our role is to offer consistent, compassionate support and access to essential resources in a space with dignity, trust, and community.

WHAT WE DO

At our Community Center, we provide low-barrier, judgment-free access to essential services and supports that help community members maintain dignity, stability, and autonomy. Guests can use private showers; on-site washers and dryers; computers, Wi-Fi, and power outlets; and access hygiene supplies and clothing from our community closet. We also offer overdose-prevention education, naloxone, and other harm-reduction materials designed to reduce the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C.

In addition to meeting immediate needs, our staff and volunteers provide peer support and assist with navigating local services. This includes help coordinating medical care, completing CHAMP applications for subsidized and affordable housing, applying for SNAP benefits, creating or updating résumés, and connecting individuals to a full range of substance use treatment options. Our goal is to ensure every person who walks through our doors has the tools, resources, and relationships they need to move toward greater well-being.
